Outreach – Philemon 1:1-7

Greeting

Paul, a prisoner for Christ Jesus, and Timothy our brother,

To Philemon our beloved fellow worker and Apphia our sister and Archippus our fellow soldier, and the church in your house:

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Philemon’s Love and Faith

I thank my God always when I remember you in my prayers, because I hear of your love and of the faith that you have toward the Lord Jesus and for all the saints, and I pray that the sharing of your faith may become effective for the full knowledge of every good thing that is in us for the sake of Christ.[a] For I have derived much joy and comfort from your love, my brother, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you.

Sermon Discussion Questions

1. In what areas have you been involved with outreach through our church and in our community?
2. Who is someone that you give thanks for that impacted your life when you were a young person?
3. What causes you to not share your faith regularly? How could others pray for you to improve in this area in your life?
4. Have you led someone to the Lord? Can you describe that experience? Have you shared your faith with someone that didn’t accept the message? Can you share how you felt about that?
5. What refreshes your heart? Would you have a piece of Scripture that you could share in your group that would refresh someone else?

We have many around us that need to know the Lord, it is so easy to pray for them, if we just take the time to do it.
